I spotted this on the news yesterday, it happened about a month ago on the A1 in England.

Whats going on here? This is no accident, the lorry driver is accelerating all the way and there’s a person inside the car!

My guess is bloke in car shagged lorry drivers daughter and/or wife.

Here i am on my bike tour of Scotland last year. It took me about 5 days  to cover most of the mainland from Lockerbie in the south, Aberdeen in the east and Ullapool in the far north.  An experienced rider could have done the same distance in a day, but i was just happy to make it home in one piece.

These shots are from the West Highland way, the Great Glen way and the Northern Highlands.  This year i’m going to do the Western Isles and the Hebrides with a little help from Caledonian MacBrayne ferries.

It occurred to me that some of my posts are only interesting to guys, so to balance it up todays top fives is a topic that everyone should relate to.  Movie theme tunes! or end credit tunes, fuck it, any song that is on a movie soundtrack!

Here are my five.. but there will be better ones out there so chip in with a link EVERYONE!

5/ Live it up -Mental as Anything - Crocodile Dundee-   fucking wonderful tune from 1986, it only appeared in the movie for a few seconds and there was an international outcry to get it realised.

4/ Live and Let Die – Paul McCartney and Wings – Live and Let Die – Roger Moore’s first Bond film from 1973 and the only one where he looks young enough to actually kick someone’s cunt in.

3/ Man of Constant Sorrow – Soggy Bottom boys – Oh Brother where for art thou – At its best when Clooney and co sing this on stage in the film.

2/ Everybody needs Somebody to Love – The Blues Brothers -  the blues brothers -  Possibly the best song in the movie and a great tune to sing at the karaoke when yer burlin!

1/ Also Sprach Zarathustra – Richard Strauss – 2001 a space odyssey – It may well be the most sampled tune ever but i bet you didn’t know it was called  Also Sprach Zarathustra!

I havn’t done a top fives in ages. The last one was movie car chases, about 4 months ago! Im staying with the movie theme and tonight it’s movie fight scenes.  Apologies to the ladies for another guy type of post. I promise to do movie love scenes next time.

im not saying these are the best of all time, just some of my favourites and i hope everyone will chip in if ive missed out any good ones.

5/  From Russia with love:  Im a bond fan and this might be the best Bond film ever made! Some of it was shot in Scotland too.  Here we have our Sean Connery against Russian agent Robert Shaw. Extremely violent for its time (1963) and always edited when shown early.

4/ The Warriors: This film was full of fights but this one is epic.  Again its violent and the movie was controversial when realised in 1979.

3/ The Phantom Menace:  the phantom whit? is what i said when i first heard the title. This is by far the pishest of the 6 Star Wars movies, i wanted to strangle that Ja-Ja Binks with his own tongue, however it did have some good moments and i think this one with Darth Maul is the best lightsaber fight in the series.  The actor playing him is a Scot too.

2/ They Live: John Carpenter once again! fuckin brilliant director.  This movie is one of his most underated (and i thought his were all underated)  It stars the wwf wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper and is well worth a look if you’ve never seen it.

1/ Enter the Dragon: The scene when Bruce Lee takes on an army of guards.  Some would say his fight with Han at the end is more memorable but i disagree, this scene is so stylish i could watch it again and again.

I just heard Corey Haim was found dead today. He was a good wee actor from the 80′s who starred in one of my favourite films The Lost Boys.

The Thrills wrote a well known song about him in 2004.

Sad to hear he’s gone.

It was my wee maws birthday at the weekend and i planned to do something special for her.  She loves the weatherman Sean Batty, fucking adores him!  And keeps telling me to be more like him. 

So i jumped on the bike in freezing conditions and shot up to Aucheneden hill, which i think has the best view within easy reach of Glasgow. Its only 4 miles north of Milngavie.

My plan was to snap of few good shots and send them in to big Sean and see if he would show one on the telly.  I sent them in my mums name so he would give her a wee shout out, which would make her day. (Fucking gentleman so i am!!)

So i get to the top. Its a heavy trek in the snow around a half mile up. Its a glorious day and im thinking the pictures will be so good that big Sean will be licking his lips, and they’ll be on the telly for sure!

Before i’d even snapped 1 picture i decided to take a wee video.  I put my crash helmut on the ground… and it slides away to fuck!  40 yards back down the hill!  My biker boots have no grip and i cunt it most of the way down splitting my hand on the way.

This time getting back to the top is harder because the helmuts fallen off the beaten track and the snow here is knee deep but the thought of my wee mammie’s face spurs me on and i get 30 decent shots of the campsies and ben lomond. 

On the way home i met a competitor in the World Harmony Run, which i didn’t even know was passing through Scotland!  The guy couldn’t have been any nicer and even let me hold the harmony torch! http://www.worldharmonyrun.org/great_britain/news/2010/scotland/0305 

Wasn’t a terrible day after all.

Its fucking unbelievable.

Scotland has a football team for Polish migrant workers called Polonia Glasgow.  As far as i know they are the only Polish team in the country.  I shot some of their sunday league match today,  they were playing my friends team Tullichewan up the Drum at the Donald Dewar centre.

Whatever the coach said at half time it seems to have worked. They eventually won 4-2.

I just heard 3 people died in a plunge from the Red Road Flats up Springburn,  formerly the tallest flats in Europe.

1 person falls from a building you think possible accident or suicide. 

2 people fall and you’re thinking certain suicide or foul play. 

But 3 people!  Whats happening up there has anyone heard?
